does anyone know anything about day cares in the neighborhood that take infants? parkslopeparents mostly has listings in the slope/cobble hill/carroll gardens, all too far from our place (st. marks) to be convenient.

I don't know how far east you are... but, my neighbor works at the center on Bedford and Sterling (I think it's Sterling).

She said they start at 3 mths. Perhaps you could make arrangements for a visit.

I've heard people talk about a place - Eladia's kids, I think. I'll search the archives of the PH Parents group.

    Subject: Eladia's Kids

My little one goes to Eladia's and we really like it. However, Eladia's is currently not operating, as she is in the process of working with local officials to get her facility up to code.

We and the other parents are now working with Eladia's staff in a babysitting share kind of situation. Not ideal. Eladia may be back up in Sept., but that is no guarantee.

    Subject: day care

I sent my younger daughter to St. John's Kidz (yes, that is a "z") on St. John's Place just above 5th Avenue. She was there for a year really liked it. Pat and Bernice are excellent.

And there's a day care center that a lot of local parents like on Hansen Place....

    Good luck!

I think there is a Jewish daycare along the park - maybe PPW and 3rd? Are they non-denominational?
