Subject: CHERYL's GLOBAL SOUL

I tried Cheryl's two twice and find the place to be okay. Not good, not bad, just okay. In my opinon, the prices are a little high for what is offered and right now, the menu is extremely limited. The half chicken came with a tiny side of bok choy...rice was extra and for 15.95 I expect a whole lot more. The establishment is cash only and there's no dessert menu. The restaurant is really nice and the service is good (albeit a tad slow.) I wanted more from the place....just my opinion. What do you guys think?

I went last night. So-so food. If she's looking to pack the place she really does need to work on the quality and variety.

why? if you say, or anyone else says it's so, so, that's gonna stop the flow? you ceazy. come first sat. the place'll be packed. do you guys also hate sorel?

Maybe it's because it's early and I just woke up, but I am not understanding a word you're saying.

yeah, sorry LH but I'm not seeing your beef. sure Cheryls will get some biz from First Sat. unfortunately for her, if the reaction on First Sat is "zomg, that was crap", she won't get the same biz First Sat after that. hopefully she'll step up in the next week. I know her restaurant told me to go AWAY when I requested brunch this past Sunday.

Yeah, so far the only real rave this place has gotten has been from teddyballgame, and his view may have been unfairly influenced by a free muffin. :twisted:

I'm definitely going to try Cheryl's for myself (I've only tried the coffee so far, and it was ok, but not as good as Joyce), but it kind of seems expensive for what they offer based on a perusal of the menu.

So far I've only been to Sorrel once (opening day), but I thought their food was much more ambitious than Cheryl's, and was a better value too (3 courses for $25). I haven't had a chance to go back to Sorrel yet, but I definitely plan to.

I LOVE Sorrel - Have been there a couple of times now. and I really appreciate the market menu - it's well priced for 3 courses and delicious. and their lemon ginger infusion is a super refreshing bev.
