Does anyone know how late in the year Gowanus Nursery stays open?

    Doesn't have the date they close, but there is a phone number and email.

    Actually, does anyone know if they sell compost and/or mulch?

    do you have access to a car? the city gives compost away for free.

    we went to get a compost bin last week at some godforsaken place near a mall called Gateway Plaza and they had mountains of black gold . . .

    Sigh. No. That was my first thought too, but alas. Then again, it might be worth it to hire armchair to drive me there. I'd probably pay more buying it from the store. hmmm....
