    If you need diner food:

The wait can be a tad long, and it is a little pricey...

Used to live there...your best bets are:

    Kiku Sushi
    Olive Vine
    Anthony's
    Rice Thai Kitchen
    Red Hot Chinese

These are all relatively close and won't gripe when you call them and tell them you live in the south slope.

    Also, they're all great places.

They're not bad for when you want inexpensive kinda gloppy/trashy/hangover/PMS Mexican food. And they deliver pretty fast, because I believe they use cars, not bikes.

I would guess that most of the places on PPW in the mid-upper teens would deliver to far South Slope. There's a little bit of everything: Thai, sushi, pizza, Spanish, Mexican, etc. If you get a chance, take a stroll on that stretch. If anything it's interesting meshing of old-school and newer Park Slope/WT.

Is there anywhere George's doesn't deliver? They're way the hell down in Sunset Park and I used to order from them/go there when I lived on 49th/5th, 'cause they were around the corner.

Fine, but not as good as their reputation. The tacos are their best item. Burritos and entrees not so great. Jennitrixie is right -- their delivery comes almost instantaneously.

What I want to know is: do any Sunset Park Chinese restaurants deliver as far as the Slope? Probably not, but our local Chinese places are all at the same level of mediocrity.

Linus, Hunan Wok (7th btwn Union and Pres.) deliver on $15 or more and they are decent. Haven't tried Uncle Liao, but they are supposed to be good too.

The worst thing about a lot of the mexican places is they have a $10 delivery minimum and I usually get tacos ($2.50 each) and can't eat enough to make the cut.

So, similiar but different question--who has lower delivery minimums so us single people don't have to order extra food just to get delivery?

And is there anything good delivery-wise down 5th Av in the 20's and 30's?

Oh, I've tried them both, and they are... decent. But none of the choices around here stands out as any better than the others the way that, say, Pollitos stands out for Mexican or La Villa stands out for pizza. (You may disagree with those particular examples, but you get the general point.) Anyway, I'm starting to take this off-topic.

I used to order from there all the time when I lived on 22nd. That was five years ago so the quality may have gone downhill since then, but their rotisserie chicken used to be REALLY good.

Their menu said they were open until 12 on Saturday night, so I was more than a little suprized to find them closed at 10:30. Plus, no tacos on the menu--what gives with that?

    I like the following places:

Bombay on 7th Ave. btwn 10th and 11th
    Cafe Steinhoff's (German/Austrian?) 7th Ave and 14th St.
Watana (Thai) 7th Ave and 14th St.

Daisy's Diner will deliver to 22nd Street
Red Hot is by far the best Chinese delivery option - very fast too
Pizza Plus will deliver, but give them at least 45 minutes

as far as DF, their quality has definitely dropped over the last few years. Not sure if they cut back on costs when they moved to the larger space, but I rarely order from them anymore. Their tacos are what they're known for and they don't even list them on the new menu.
