Good birthday venue

Hi all,

I'm looking for a bar to host a birthday party. Nothing fancy -- just a place to meet up and have drinks for about 25 people. A bonus would be a place that also has music/dancing later on in the evening (nothing too club-like though).

Any ideas?

I'm ideally looking in Brooklyn but not limited to Prospect Heights -- anywhere in BK would be fine.

Two weeks ago, I would have said Indigo.:cry::cry:

in Prospect Heights, the only place I can think of is Soda. but, if you're willing to leave the nabe, The Royale in Park Slope would totally fit the bill.

I second the suggestion of Royale for dancing. I've been to a couple birthday gatherings there that evolved into late night dancing. The music isn't always the best, but it's a cozy and unpretentious locale.

I think all the more reason to go to Indigo if they are still open...

Ripple is awesome. They encourage a party atmosphere and if you get a lot of people to come out one of the owners Syron will make you get up and dance on top of the bar.

They also warmly invite birthday cakes and all that jazz. The bar is small enough that if you come with 30 people it feels like your at a rockin party, the dj's are always good too.

Thanks, feelfree! I've never been, but my boyfriend has -- and it's right up the street.
