There was a shooting today on the corner of Bergen and Troy, in front of the Albany Houses. As of now the victim is not cooperating with the police. If you know something please let the police know.

There are alot of guns in and around that development. St. Marks between Albany and Troy is pretty shady too.

Well, I've had it. When lease is up on August 1st, I'm outta here; cheap rent is not worth risking getting shot. I could swear it's 1985 NYC again over here

well i guess the closer you get towards downtown the safer it is and it does get more expensive. how bout getting close to prospect heights. they are still pretty cheap for rent.

Why don't you consider DUMBO, Vinegar Hill or Fort Greene? They're right next to three large public housing projects: Farragut, Ingersol and Whitman Houses. :)

Good one Greg! But, ya forgot Red Hook and Williamsburg near Graham Avenue. The borough really is going to shit, maybe we should all jump ship when there is a crime, like those in Manhattan do when something goes wrong. I always see them moving away when there are shootings in Hell's Kitchen, stabbings in Herald Square, murders made to look like suicides in Greenwhich Village, or homophobic beatdowns in the East Village. They've got the right idea!

So, basically ya'll are caling me a pussy? How mature.

Thank You. You know my point is, that everyone's priorities are different. A shooting every other night from my block is not ideal. I'll take cramped space elswehere, for less paranoia. Jeez.

Having lived in nyc in 1985, I hear ya.

Portland, OR: cheap rents and safer neighborhoods. Some good sushi places from what I hear.
