You Do Not Smile

Creepy mural advertisement seen in Crown Heights, near Dean and Bedford.

I wouldn't smile either if I had a piece of tin nailed to my cheek!

I actually got a postcard from this guy once. Almost as bizarre as this mural. He must really think that "you do not smile" is a clever advertising slogan.

I'm afraid since I have never had detal work done before.

the "model" looks a little like frieda kahlo -- not sure if she smiled very often ...

Maybe Frida Kahlo after an eyebrow waxing.

i think they repainted that mural recently too, because she had much more of a 'stache before. but yeah, freaky.

My god, this is my favorite mural. Every time I walk down Nostrand, I make sure to point that out to anyone walking with me. It is a huge pile of misspelled, fear-mongering awesome.

I love her "necklace" - and her monkey pal ... she's inspired a number of designers. In fact, there is (or was) a store on Smith Street called Frida ...

Excellent job! I think you show real promise as a make-up artist.

How are you guys so sure this has to do with dentistry? It says "detal"--maybe they mean auto-detailing, or something.

Very bizarre, either way.

i am too, but the $7.95 regular carwash at the place on bedford and lincoln, is wicked good, they EVEN vaccuum! its the closest thing to detailing i'll get.

I am such a coward I can't even look at this mural anymore.
