Methinks it's Park PL. My guess is that they are waiting for either the insurance check or approval from the buildings dept. Or they didn't have insurance and they can't do much of anything.

If it's the buildings dept, it could be a long time. They have a concept of time that is closer to a redwood than human.

Yep, Park Place. Its such a shame b/c it looks like a nice building, even with the fire damage.

Termites? Wood Rot? Fire/Smoke damage? Owner adandonment? Could really be anything. You should pop into the local realtor and ask. They usually know the story even if they're not representing the property.

I live on the block and the rumor that I heard is that an elderly woman lived there with at least one tenant. Unfortunately, that woman died within the last year and the house was occupied only by the tenant(s). There was a gas leak and the house caught fire. So the house is either in probate and/or the heirs are waiting for insurance proceeds. But please note, all of the above information is Park Place gossip that I received from people on the block.
