Suggestions for Small Appliance or Engine Repair?

I've got a large pedestal fan, Wizard of Oz-strength, that went on the fritz at the end of the summer. Does anyone know of a shop that specializes in fixing small electrical engines like that? Or maybe just some guy who putzes around his basement? The fan is a beaut; failing a workable solution, would donate to a tinkerer, hoarder or parts freak.

Appears to be a "Comfort Zone" brand, made in 2005.
