scrabble in the slope

All humbleness aside, I have discovered recently that I kick ass at scrabble. But I don't know very many people in the area who play (or who are willing to play me after being defeated). Would anyone be interested in doing a weekly or bi-weekly scrabble gathering in the slope or know of any currently happening?

(disclaimer: I am a terrible shit-talker and occasional yeller of "boo-YAAAAH" and "IN YOUR FACE" when I get a really good one, and by really good I mean using every single one of my letters and making a word that has a q AND a z in it. But it's all in good fun and I will buy you a beer if you beat me.)

I think I remember WhyFi saying that he could TOTALLY SCHOOL YOU at Scrabble. In fact, I think he said he could easily beat you without even using any vowels! :shock:

I don't know if they still do it, but Commonwealth used to have a Scrabble tournament on Sunday afternoons. If you find out any info, please post it.

I think most of the boards at Buttermilk are missing pieces, might have to make this a bring your own sorta thing.

too bad my buddy irene moved away. I only beat her at scrabble once, but that's b/c I got to go first and I started with the word "xenon". rock!

Same problem. It's weird, isn't it. I figure you have to 1) be quick with anagrams and know some tricks for certain letters 2) be more into going for colored squares than the pure joy of vocabulary.
