When You Just Don't Want To Cook . . .

Subject: When You Just Don't Want To Cook . . .

Where do you get your delivery/takeout?

I've had good experiences with Rice--while I'm not always thrilled with their food, their delivery is fast, well-packaged, and accurate.

I love the food at La Pequena, but have had bad experiences getting it delivered--it takes forever, and they often forget important parts of the meal (like tortillas that go with fajitas).

I once ordered delivery from Cafe Lafayette, a restaurant I really like when I'm there, and were sorely disappointed--the food was too greasy and too cold! Eww.

What's on your speed dial? What's on your "never again" list? Do tell all. And tell us where you are in the neighborhood, too! (I'm obviously on South Oxford Street.)

OK, it's been a few years, but...

La Pequena is expensive delivery, but great.
    Ruthie's is good soul food.
5-Spot has awesome catfish po-boys (and mac & chz!)
Not Ray's best pizza (my opinion) in the area.

And you should have received a TON of menus from Park Slope and the surrounding areas. For some reason the "zone of delivery" has quadrupled, so folks from far off (what's that n Bklyn?) will deliver...

    Experimentation is key :)

PS> anyone that sees my posts as dated, please update me/thread. I moved 2 yrs ago, after 10 yrs! And on S. Oxford!!!

Guarantee that you'll like Bonita more than Pequena. Unfortunately, I don't think they deliver yet. Could be wrong, though.

There's also Myrtle Thai, Black Iris, Amin, Vellis, Cafe Lafayette, a bunch of crappy Chinese spots, One Greene and Sushi on D, to add a few more cheap weeknight options. A lot of the neighboring areas deliver too, or at least I seem to get a menu in my door every other day.

Yeah, we like Black Iris. Don't like Cafe Lafayette (see first post). Can anyone vouch for good Chinese in the area?

Is One Green the somewhat big place on the corner in Fort Greene? I went there a few weeks ago and thought their sushi was horrible. Didn't taste fresh and the seaweed was chewy. I wasn't the least bit impressed. But maybe I went on an off night.

Well, I like the staff and it's an area staple so I hate to badmouth it, but I agree it's definitely not great Japanese food.

i just had chinese from kum kau and i have to say it was pretty good. i ate in but i'd be willing to order take out from them.

grazeilla's for pizza. mojita's is on speed dial. ruthie's kitchen is good too. sushi d is the best sushi place in the area. castro's is also a good choice for delivery.

i usually use myrtle menus to look places up and order.
