The Dry Cleaner that is on same block as the "Y" & CVS does alterations,
    You can try on there
They can be a bit pricy
Her work is very professional. I have only had pants hemmed.

A woman whose name is pronounced "Young" at Brooklyn Valet Cleaners at 86 7th Avenue near Union Street (phone:718 857 5000) seems to really care about pleasing customers. She's hemmed a ton of pants for me and has taken in some jackets. I'm not sure how Brooklyn Valet Cleaners' prices compare.

The only other tailor I tried worked in a Russian-owned dry cleaner business on 6th Avenue between Union and President Streets. The tailor made my pants much too short. I complained, but the damage was done. This business vanished within the last year. I think there's now a photo shop inside the space.

There is someone on Washington Avenue in Prospect Heights who is not only a tailor but a dressmaker. I've heard he does very good work. I can't remember the name but if I come across the friend who mentioned him I'll post it.

Does anyone else know the name of this guy?
