Christmas Eve dinner in the neighborhood

I am hosting the family this year for Christmas, and I cannot conceive of cooking on Christmas Eve and Day. Does anyone have a favorite spot for dinner on Christmas Eve, or even know what's open?
I'm hoping to save some time, instead of calling every local restaurant and asking.
Though I'm loyal to Prospect Heights, we can travel for a good meal.

After sharing the holidays with many Jewish boyfriends in the past, I can confidently say there's nothing like Chinese food and a movie on Christmas Eve. If your family is from out of town, they'll think it's very New York. Too bad there only seems to be bullet-proof glass Chinese take-out joints in our neighb' -- unless anyone else knows any good ones.

Exactly. We can totally honor my dad's Jewish heritage with Chinese, but would need to travel.
Looks like we might be having Italian in the W. Village...
