Does anyone have any restaurant recommendations for good places in those areas?

Pacificana on 55th and 8th Ave. The entrance is on the side of 55th between 8th and 9th Ave, it's above the Chase/Citibank/whatever bank it is. There's also the big place on 65th, I believe, between 6th and 7th Ave? Does anyone know what I'm talking about? Big black marble exterior, you take an escalator to the dining room.

Is that the Jade Palace? It's across from the supermarket.

What about ocean palace? That place keeps popping up on the internet but no one knows if they're open or closed or what. Is it good? Is it still around?

I think Ocean Palace closed, and Pacificana took it's place.

Ocean Palace is no more. A bank has taken over the site. Pacificana is above it.

I love that place. I think it's better than most of my Manhattan go-tos.
It's at 6202 18th Ave, and I forgot the cross street, but I don't think it was 64th, and it's not listed on their menu. Their phone # is 718-236-8118 or 718-236-3721.

In Sunset Park, I had a good meal recently at Sheng Xiang Seafood Restaurant at 5318 8th Ave, but I don't think they have dim sum. Their number is 718-633-3383 or 718-633-3387.

I love Pacificana Restaurant for dimsum. It is also a very comfortable atmosphere to sit back and enjoy tea. They have some excellent noodle and rice dishes from the lunch menu -- I had the bitter melon with chicken over rice (delicious and healthy!).

Pacificana is owned by the same people who ran the Ocean Palace. You can take a tour and view their menu online at
