Am I being overly sensitive? It annoys me that when they renovated they reversed the placement of the treadmills and bicycles making it difficult to get to the bikes and noisy once you are on them.

I hate the fact that there is no more stretching room. You are crammed over into the corner of that big room OR you can use a room if it is free. Which is almost never. I liked being able to do my crunches and stretches there before and after getting on the treadmill. Seems to me for the teeny little bit more space they have gained, they lost a lot more. I didn't think it was all that cramped in there to begin with. How about doing away with the crack-track that no one uses because its like running in a parabola which is TERRIBLE for your knees.

There is a stretching room now, I think it was just full of construction equipment before. It's in the office space that was next door to the old stretching room

well thats good to hear. but all in all i dont see much net gain in all of those renovations. i am also curious when the new pool is going to open and when they are planning on putting it.

I wonder if the people who planned the rennovation ever worked out in this gym. I'd like to think they asked for members' suggestions before the rennovation.

In general - is this a good gym to go to? How much is it? I'm in the market for a new gym membership.

I'm not a member but have friends who have no complaints. FYI, I noticed yesterday that they're waiving initiation fees for this month.

It is still the best deal in town. We pay something like $68 month for family membership, NYSC is more than that for 1.

We get a 20% which anyone can get with a whole list of things like being a teacher, AARP membership or wokring at Citibank

I think its a great gym. The class schedule is good (tho I will never do yoga there), the facilities are excellent, and the people are nice. And its a really good price. I've been going there for almost 2 years and love it.

Is it relatively clean? How about the locker room? I'm moving from my company gym which was one of the best gyms I've ever been to. They did our laundry there! (gym clothes only of course)

It'd clean, yes, there is a locker room and you can get a permanent locker. The only thing you get free is towels, you'll have to do your won laundry but for the price.....

Also if you sign up this month they waive the initiation fee

    yes. its very clean.
but why not go and ask them to give you a tour. that way you can assess it for yourself.
and like BrooklynJack said, this month they are waiving the initiation fee, so its a good time to check it out.
