So my friends and I have weekly Grey's-watching nights on Thursdays, but they're always in Astoria. Does anyone know about how much I can expect to pay to get home? I'm at Park/Classon.

Also posted on the PH board. Thanks :)

wouldn't you save yourself a lotta money if you just took the N to atlantic? 1-2 cabs a week will break the bank, no matter how cheap CH rent is.

I'm not worried about getting there, but I've read other people's comments about taking cabs after 11 or so (which is my general rule anywhere in NYC as well). It'd take about an hour (at least) to get back home if I take the N from there to Atlantic, then transfer... my concern is getting home late.

And I usually take the subway, I can't afford the luxury of cabs all the time :)

this is kind of embarassing, but i will admit behind my cloak of relative anonymity that i do something similar for gilmore girls (which actually sucks now) and veronica mars (which is surprisingly good) every tuesday in washington heights. takes me 90 minutes or more to get home from that, so i can sympathize. i can't relate to the cab thing though, but then again i'm a guy and i've never been scared of any part of this town that wasn't williamsburg.

alternatively, have you tried scouring hopstop.com to see if there's some circuitous bus route that will take you closer to your door and save you upwards of $30?

Good call with the bus route--completely obvious but didn't think of it.

I'm totally with you on Gilmore Girls. Those new friends of Rory's? Lame. And where is pregnant Lane? I digress.

you may have just taken the cab by now, but I know a friend of mine who visits me in CH always takes cabs to/from -- I remember standing with her negotiating with the guy (black cab) the first time she took one out of here, I'm *pretty* positive it was like 23 bucks, or something. yellow cabs are supposed to be cheaper though?
