What an asshole. Anyone who considers sacrificing a pet's life for financial gain = asshole. Automatically. Same goes for anyone who'd make up such a story like that to scam people out of money, so either way this guy's an asshole. Asshole, asshole, asshole.

The front page of the site says he needed the tuition money by November 3, and I checked the registry info for the domain and the site was created in September, so even if it's true his deadline for needing the money has already long passed.

It's so ridiculous my guess is it's a scam. But hey it's Florida so you never know.

Since ferrets are pets like cats and dogs, I think they'd be covered under animal cruelty laws, meaning it would be illegal for some random person to kill one.

The ASPCA offers advice on reporting online animal cruelty, which you might want to go ahead and do--hopefully it would at least result in the site being taken down:

this is such an old scam. 2 years ago some kid said he was going to kill a bunny and he ended up raising like thousands of dollars for himself. its a scam.
