New eatery alert:

http://www.focaccinony.com/

On the corner of Lexington and Bedford, 2 blocks from the nostrand bedford G train. The roomies and I have eaten there twice and while its not FANTASTIC, its really effin good for the price- the personal size foccacia thingies are HUGE and the sandwiches are giant too. I got a foccacia and a sandwich tonight for $11.00 picked up and the inside of the plce is really nice, especially for the hood. Plus, with a $5 minimum delivery and GREAT fresh salads, I think its pretty good.

And no, I don't work for them. I'm just that stoked to see a decent place to eat 3 blocks from my house.

^ok agreed, the menu image sucks BUT

I met one of the manager people and he was REALLY really nice. Super nice. Gave me a bunch of samples because I had to "wait" for my food (it was 10 minutes!) Havnt had the pizza, but the focaccia is awesome so i imagine the pizza is too. I say check it out- we need decent delivery options here so cmon, suppooorrrtttt. I'll be so sad if they go under! I love goat cheese!

the pizza really wasn't good but we may have ordered one of their strange doughs, the delivery was real fast and the salad was on point. that image of times square discouraged me from eating there at first, thats pretty damn corny.

^truth. honestly though since they're brand new i expect some kinks with the food...and its SO cheap for delivery. I mean $5 for those sandwiches? Where else can you even GET stuff like that around here?
Can you tell I'm excited? haha

I have heard not so great things (people getting sick and bad reviews). Has it gotten better-worth it to eat there? I might have to give it a try reading this.

We ordered a pizza from there last week--it was really bad. Granted, it takes some time to get good at making crust with a brick oven, but the cheese was strange and mysterious (they don't say what they use on their menu-it tasted like government issue lowfat soy) and the sauce was tasteless.

They may be nice people, but I don't think they know much about food, unfortunately.

i order a lot from them. we have limited takeout around here.

their sundried tomato focaccia is really good. i add goat cheese. even though it's not really focaccia. it's sauceless pizza.

their pizza isn't so good. the sauce is bland and the cheese is really bad. and they use a lot of it. i never thought i'd think a place put too much cheese on a pizza.

salads and sandwiches are ok. for some reason their raw onions are really gross. really smelly in an odd way. stay away from the onions. trust me on this one.

it made me very sick - i would never order from them again for being so revolting
