Good, fresh and organic choices can be found at Rosewater on Union and 6th Ave in Park Slope. The brunch is awesomely delicious.

I also really like Miriam on 5th Ave and Bergen (or thereabouts) which has a delicious Israli Breakfast.

    brunch options:

    1. by far my favorite (for any meal, but brunch is awesome) is tavern on dean, on the corner of dean and underhill. $14 prix fixe, comes with a basket of mini muffins and croissants, and a coffee/tea and a mimosa/bloodymary/halfpint. fresh, tasty, awesome food.

    2. deacon blue cafe, on prospect and grand. they recently opened, you can probably search for them on here. i've only been for dinner (delish!) but they have a good looking brunch menu too.

    3. le gamin cafe, on vanderbilt and bergen/dean. small french cafe, there are 3 or 4 in manhattan too. crepes, omelettes, baguettes, amazing coffee.

    4. beast, on vanderbilt at bergen. never done brunch, but great bar/tapas at night.

    5. diners: tom's (only saturdays) - washington/sterling; the usual - vanderbilt & prospect/st. marks; cafe shane - washington & sterling / st. johns

Didn't Sorrel (on Carleton) just start offering weekend brunch too?

    Has anyone been yet?

There's a fantastic little carribean-latino place on Union St. between 4th adn 5th ave. its nestled at the bottom of a brownstone. The fish with grits is slammin' and the dinner is 5 star to say the least. Amazing food. Great brunch menu and a fab dinner menu too...

miriam has been my favorite thus far but the last time we went it wasn't so good... burnt coffee, bad service, and they forgot things like toast and such - normally it's SO good.

also, i like ici in clinton hill.. but it's more $$$ on weekends and coffee is not included so brunch can easily add up to $40 for 2 !!!

The new place next to Sepia, up Underhill at Lincoln Pl, is supposed to have awesome brunch, though I haven't tried it yet.

More votes for Beast (food yes, service ugggh), Le Gamin, and Tavern on Dean. Flatbush Farm has the best in in the area right now. Screw Tom's, overpriced mediocrity, though the kitsch has some value and Gus is a wonderful guy. For diner food its all about The Usual.

    Subject: brunch it up

i know its not close, sorry. but this place rocked me for brunch so hard i gotta put it up: SAVOIA on Smith street over in cobble hill or whatever they call it. if you go, make sure to try the roasted calamari and fennel salad.

Here's another vote for Flatbush Farm. I awakened absolutely jonesing for their hashbrowns (cooked in a skillet, crispy/delicious on the outside, yummy potato goodness on the inside). Their toad-in-the-hole is pretty tasty, as is their salmon cake; my boyfriend is fond of the Farmer breakfast which involves roasted turkey, cream gravy, bacon and a tomato (followed by a nap).

the chili omelet at tom's is my new favorite thing. it's so damn good. esp. with swiss cheese. guh. (get grits with it and mush it all together. if not spicy enough, add hot sauce. it's the fuckin' bomb)
