Why the meanness?

I'm sure I'm opening myself for flaming again here, but as I've been reading these boards, there's so much meanness and hostility and name-calling! What's the deal?

Can't we all just get along?

its all about attention whoring and drama. or the boards gonna slow down.

I'd just like to take this opportunity to express how much I love and respect y'all.

people are very brave behind a computer screen...in "real" life they only have the balls to think this stuff

I am far and away the furthest thing from a supporter of the Bush administration you can find 'round these parts but Chavez is a clown. A dangerous one, but a clown nonetheless.

This kind of stuff just happens from time to time on Internet forums like this one. Usually it's centered around one user who picks fights with others, out of boredom or a need for attention or whatever. For the most part, I've found almost everyone on this site to be really nice.

like i said on other subject. net is part of my life. i treat folks as if. i know them in real life. and i goto alot of meetings . with people i post. so they are real to me.

Yes, although I've read online arguments with inside references that I cannot follow, which make me think that some people who are fighting online know each other and fight offline too.

This forum is actually very civil.
I regularly read the Mets and Yankees boards, where everyone is 6'5'' 250 and could beat you up if he ever saw you.

Once people can hide behind screennames they tend to get more and more uncivilized as there are no real repercussions.
