    Oh, nice.
I love dogs, we have a Mutt, Golden-Airdale-Weaton mess of of a hairball.

I'll defenitely step by on opening day, what times are you open?
Are there any special ceremonies or stuff?

    Thanks for the heads up.

If they deliver, I will be in heaven.

Hot dogs seem like a food that doesn't deliver well. (Like french fries.) But I'll be there.

I also want bratwursts. I was going to type "brats," but then someone would think I was advocating children behaving badly in restaurants, and then there would be a whole thing.

i can see myself hitting this place a lot, especially if they are open late, as a direct result of beer munchies at the Gate.

I hope they're as good or better as Gray's. I agree about the WT place, it's pretty bad.

i don't think the quality of the food is the selling point
it's like a bar. but with hot dogs.
but instead. the selling point is the sense of community
it's more for the opportunity to be social

    meat is a selling point
    can vegans have onion rings?

You misread me. Or I miswrote. Someone posted that she hopes that the hot dog place will deliver, as in to her house. Some foods work well for delivery, others not so well. (Onion rings, for instance, get soggy.)

And for me, the quality totally matters. I can be social plenty of places without eating a bad hot dog. Or I could, if I weren't a total misanthrope.

willie's had a trial run this weekend. and it was good

they bake their own buns. which aren't buns in the traditional hot dog sense
but more like hearty rolls. challah, rye, whole grain rolls in a hot dog bun shape

you can have this filled with either a meat hot dog, tofu dog, or a marinated grilled carrot
and your choice of toppings, from blue cheese to onions to whatever you wish
a dog will cost you from $2 - $4 depending on the toppings
kinda like starbucks. but with hot dogs...

they open up valentine's day. and are located a couple of stores to the left of pink pussycat

i had a drunken field day at Crif Dogs the other night. allegedly i went there before, during, and after the Hop Devil Grill, eating at least one dog and one order of fries each time, dogs with at least three toppings!

i woke up and had chili and cheese in my beard.

    Subject: We tried Willie's

We went to Willie's on Sat afternoon to try it out - I had the "pedigree" (all beef dog) and my girlfriend had the tofu dog...both awesome. Lots of topping choices, we both went with the salsa which was very good.

Finished the meal with an gooey fudge brownie, delicious. I think this place will do well once they find their rhythm and the regulars at the Gate begin patronizing it. What's better than beers and dogs?
