hello there! i'm thinking of making an internal brooklyn move to park slope (north) to warren street bt 4th and 5th ave. it seems pretty safe to me but since i don't know the area super well, i wanted to get some input. any advice would be greatly appreciated!

thanks!

What exactly defines a "safe" street? And what is an "internal" move?
No one can guarantee that you won't get mugged. The best way to determine what suits your personal safety is to visit the area at night.

It is probably safer then Saratoga and Blake Aves but not as safe as Henry and Pierrepont

    Subject: safety

internal move means i'm moving from carroll gardens (within brooklyn, not manhattan, etc.)

i'm a block away from there and walk my dog around the block at night. i haven't had any problems. but like another poster said, you just have to be cautious and aware cause stuff can happen anywhere. when i lived in the north slope on lincoln and 8th ave (which i thought would be considered a relatively "safe" area, i saw a group of kids jump and mug a guy for his ipod across the street (right in front of a well lit doorman building) and my downstairs neighbor was mugged at gunpoint when she was walking down the street with her boyfriend. so i'm not sure if it really matters where you live -you just always have to be cautious and aware.

also, i find my block to be occupied by really friendly people and alot of young people. when i was on lincoln, my husband and i lived there for 2 years and hardly knew anyone - it was a bit more snooty up there. just my opinion here - hope no one jumps on me for saying this...

It's a very safe and welcoming neighborhood, and in a perfect location for commuting. You'll love it here. I think it's not much different from Caroll Gardens.
