Junkyard puppy needs help [NEW! Photo]

For the last couple of months a great rotti-puppy has been living on a junkyard lot on Bergen tied to a tree. Her owner finally agreed to give her up and now she needs to find a home or a place to stay while she finds the right home. She is about 9 months old and less than 50lbs. She is super sweet and loves people. Since she spends all her time alone she will need some training - she has never been inside a house. However, she is smart and eager to please. I am taking her to the vet to have her shots this week, but otherwise she seems to be in good shape. Of course, she will be spayed ASAP.

If you know anyone that would like to adopt her, foster her or you would like to spend some time with her please call me (Vivian) at 718-622-0600 or email me at [email hidden]. She is a great dog and could use some human contact.

I am trying to get pictures.

It would be nice if we find get her a loving home right here in PH, and not have to put her in the system, which can be pretty traumatic. Pictures of her in a day or so as soon as I get a chance to get over there.

Sadly I can't fit quality dog care in my schedule but growing up my family had two female rotti's and they were both friendly and amazing dogs... good luck!

Any luck placing the puppy? I wish I could help with her but my cats would not approve!

Here she is! I met her yesterday, and can report she's sweet, playful and anxious to please. We taught her "sit" in about a minute. She needs to learn how to walk on a leash. This dog is so happy for any attention, she'll make such a loving pet. She's only about 50 lbs, a purebred Rottweiler, and contrary to the photo, has a normal sized tongue. :)

Please, please spread the word so we can get her out of the car lot. You can contact me or Vivian at Housebroken to meet her. Thank you so much!

    Take me Home!

I can't take her, but if she needs care/support in the mean time, I'd volunteer to walk her once a week and chip in on food costs. Who has her now?

I wish... but we have two cats and, more importantly, not a whole lot of room for a sizable dog.

I, too, could share in the walking and doodie duty...

I'm the original guest that posted to volunteer. Guess I wasn't logged in at the time. I'm sure there's plenty o' love floating around this board to share with this pup until she finds a permanent situation.

If you'd like to walk {remember, she doesn't know how to walk on a leash} and/or give this super-friendly pup some personal attention, please see Vivian at her shop, HouseBroken, on Vanderbilt and Bergen. The dog is still chained to her tree in the lot, as there's nowhere else for her to go yet.

If I didn't already own 2 rescued dogs and a rescued cat, she'd be getting comfortable at my place. Thank you, PHers! Please do continue to ask around. :P

Thank you to all you that have volunteer to help walk her, the more contact she gets to have the better. Please call me 718-622-0600 or email me directly at [email hidden] so we can figure out the schedule. As many of you know, I am in my 3rd year at law school so I am not always around.

Again, please pass her info around to all your friends, I am sure that someone out there is looking for a great dog.

NOT a home yet, but she will be spending the weekend at a great foster home. So she still needs a permanent home.

    Keep on spreading the word...

Her new owner is the owner of a doggy daycare (Woof and Whiskers) in Red Hook... She is a very lucky girl. She gets to play with dogs all day long. Thank you for all of your help.
