rhodamine, I just looked at your LJ and saw caracarn on your friends list. How weird--he is a friend of some friends of mine! I guess the population of grown-up NYC LJ users really is a small world...

As i walked down the street i saw taht my car gas door was open. OMG! I was sooo pissed. I turned on the car and much to my surprise - it hadnt been sucked dry (or at all it seems). But I saw other cars the same way - gas door left open. maybe i was "marked" for later? or someone messing around? or maybe they could get any out of my car for some reason - i dont know.

I put tape over the gas meter - just for starters. I will (soon) get the lock.

EDIT: Park Pl btwn washington & underhill.

Give it enough time and we'll all be inbred. But Brooklyn inbred!

Our gas door was open and the cap off but the gas wasn't siphoned. A quick call to my mechanic and he said that late model Volvos have a vacuumed fuel system (I have no idea what that means). Supposedly it makes them a bitch to siphon. So, here's the point, I can't imagine that too many people in PS have to worry what with the per capita new Volvo figure across Flatbush being some number approaching infinity :P If it were up to me we'd get rid of our car all together. What a pain in the ass.

Another question: Where the fuck are all the people who jam Flatbush at rush hour going in their cars that I can't get to via bus or subway? Excoriate me for this n00b NYer question. It's OK.

Deep in the under-MTA-serviced parts of East Flatbush, Canarsie, Mill Basin and nearby areas.

There's a reason why those $1 vans do decent business.

Ooof. I forget that I am spoiled what with the train taking me within 1 1/2 blocks of work and home. The $1 vans are neat. I have noticed all of the flags of the various West Indian countries popping up on them lately. Of course, there seems to be a lot of West Indians popping up right outside our door as well. Some guy has his food stand on Grand Army already set up and has settled in for the night.
