I know that Property Shark gets its info from nyc gov documents, but where specifically online can I get the same info, such as lot size, building size, FAR, and unused FAR?

ACRIS and DOB's BIS (building information search) system. City Planning's website also has info on zoning. All available via nyc.gov

BTW, propertyshark.com can be VERY outdated in its info, especially when it comes to zoning.

OK, but where exactly is the FAR displayed on these sites. I don't see it.

in Zoning Maps on the City Planning site (you can download map PDFs and look up the FAR depending on the district), on any job application/permit on DOB's BIS or via a search on propertyshark.com (which will show you FAR, FAR built and total FAR buildable, but as I said above, it's not always accurate, i.e. I live in a R6B district, PS has it still as R6).

Hope that helps. Specific location/address? PM me.

Thx, but how, in your view, does Prop Shark do it automatically?

IE: How does it pull the data from the exact column/row area on the PDF?

Also, Lost, what do you do for a living? Just curious.

PS pulls from many databases (e-mail their programmer, he's pretty nice and will give some info on how they do it...not all of it ;) ) that the City has. As far as their architecture, again, talk to their programmer.

What do I do? Let's just say land use and housing are a hobby...
