Do any of you guys know of any good cheap agents in NYC? I'm trying to get to London on the 28th or 3/1. I don't feel like calling a million places to get the same prices I'm quoted on the web.

Thanks.

uh. the BA website is doing ultra cheap airfares. and kayak.com is bombtastic.

but frankly, the pound will rape you. look on CL and see if you can be someone's temp roommate or something.

Travel agents usually cost more than webfares, because you're paying an extra person's salary. As for buying direct from the airline: I saved $100 on next week's trip to Europe under the lowest price from the airlines by taking one of Hotwire's offers. I correctly deduced the airline and the flights, and it was the ones I wanted, even though they don't tell you until afterwards. For accomodation, I've usually got cheapish deals in London and elsewhere in the UK by looking up local B&Bs / hotels on the web. 40 quid should get you a basic room. But yes, the £ is a killer.
