What to do on Friday evenings

Hi. I am new to the neighborhood and am looking for suggestions of activities for Friday nights. I'm single and usually go into the city to see friends/dates on Saturday and SUnday, but love to stay close to home on Friday evenings. Any ideas?

kinda far for cg, but there are a few places on atlantic around henry-ish: magnetic fields, last exit, floyd. i'm old so i don't really get to them very often, but when i have been it's been a pretty fun time. don't know about fridays though. i think there are also places further south--more like cg--on hicks, and also a couple places on court down around carroll street. sorry--i know that's not helpful without names--! but the point is there are definitely places to hang out.
