Looking for 2 BR in Fort Greene, Williamsburg, Clinton Hill

Basically, my girlfriend and I are looking to move to a safe neighborhood and close to a subway that will get her into Manhattan every morning. I don't want my car broken into, and I'd like to feel safe about her walking alone in the evening.

We want to spend $1400 or less on a 2 BR, which I know is limiting, but that's all we want to spend. We both work full time and have no pets.

Anybody got any hot tips?

consider south brooklyn, a longer trip, but areas like dyker heights, bensonhurst etc are pretty safe and much cheaper
