Ice, ice baby.

there's a giant ice slick (20'x20'?) steadly growing on the corner of washington and underhill, covering half the street. People and cars have been slip sliding all day - just saw someone slip while pushing a stroller.

looks like water is trickling from the side of the street, but not gushing. I called 311 who declared it a water main break, but I'm more worried about the ice hazard.. didn't seem like they were busting to get over here. who else to call? anyone? i'm waiting for a car to take a hard left off lincoln and skid into my building..

Is that the slick at lincoln & underhill? That's the only glacier in the world that isn't shrinking.

You can try to call the DEP and sanitation direct but since the advent of 311 most of the city agencies have hidden their direct phone numbers from the public.

I not only saw this giant patch of ice (that appears to be the result of sewage drain overflow), but I found myself attempting some drunken triple axels and other interpretive ice dance moves on it on my way home from Bar Sepia.

So please do not contact the authorities as the neighborhood has so few, conveniently located, outlets for my intoxicated buffoonery...
