I've seen some chat about the different options for PH as a whole, but what do people on this block use? I've heard Verizon DSL does not cover it.

If you have an existing landline, you can try http://dslreports.com/ and see some options..

I've been using Speakeasy for DSL for a few years, and up until a winter storm pushed some trees into the lines my performance was great:

Speakeasy isn't the cheapest option ever but their support is fabulous - the kind of place where they actually *call you back* when you're having trouble.

Avoid Cablevision. They make Time-Warner and Verizon seem like well-adjusted, consumer-friendly companies.

I use cablevision. And I work from home, so I need the reliability. Cablevision isn't perfect. But you get a far better throughput with cable than you do with DSL, just based on speed alone, and also in this neighborhood. And you don't have to have an existing land line like you do with Verizon. I've used both and I hated Verizon DSL, honestly. So while Cablevision isnt perfect, its decent. And Time Warner isnt available over here.
