Is the opening of the Joseph Tyler Salon on Myrtle Avenue at Washington another sign of the coming Apocalypse?

Or is it merely another drop in the bucket of gentrification that will soon be flooding the area?

It does seem a tad out of place to my uninformed eye.

I don't know how to put this inoffensively so I won't even bother: my girlfriend and I were somewhat happy to see a salon come to that stretch of Myrtle Avenue that does all types of hair, if you know what I mean.

Boygabriel, I don't think your statement is offensive at all. At first I was sorta bummed out because it was another salon, but then I realized that it was different because it catered to a more diverse clientele. I think Myrtle Avenue is a really nice place (of course, I'm SLIGHTLY biased).

Now it's all clear. The AntiChrist is a hair salon. Who'd-a-thunk-it?

As I understand it from the Myrtle Avenue Redevelopment Project (MARP), the salon came in because MARP showed such a business was highly requested by local residents. I think it's a really useful addition to the neighborhood.

I agree with boygrabriel and tinarina--a decent place for a hair cut is a good thing. OP: when you say it seems out of place, do you mean because it's not a crappy chinese food place? I don't particularly care if it's a hair salon but I do appreciate having more variety of places on Myrtle.
