another new restaurant in CH!

I had dinnner at Tavern on Nostrand this weekend, which is always delicious and fun. David, the owner, told us that he is moving the bagel place around the corner, onto Union, and in its place, he is opening a new restaurant called Asian Jazz. He bought the 99 cent store and that will be part of it. It will be sushi, thai, korean bbq, and one other thing that I am now forgetting....

He said it would open in about 3 weeks, which seems very fast.

He also said that the new coffee/bagel shop will be much nicer than the last one was.

Crown Heights might just become a jazz destination.

I love Tavern on Nostrand and I hope David makes the bagel shop a real bagel shop, like bergan bagels or something comparable.. if he does I will eat there twice a weekend... bagels and high tea was cute but just wasn't authentic enough to me... it needs lots of cream cheeses and baskets of bagels made on the premises...

There is something on Union and Nostrand called Food Maestro. Is this part of David's new arrangement?

Met David once at Tavern on Nostrand. Very nice guy who clearly has a major investment (as a business man and home owner) in the area.
