Subject: Miracle grill Vs. Maria's

Yes I know they are different eatin' genres...

it's my B-day and I am trying to figure out which would be a better choice...

SouthWestern at Miracle Grill on 7th?

OR

Mexican at Maria's on Union?

Thoughts?

:)

I don't love love love either of them, although I'm guessing the food and pomegranite margaritas are better at Maria's. And they make good guac.

I think you'll get more action on this on the PS board...
    and Happy Birthday!
    :D

Maria's, definitely, and if for no other reason than the fact that they make awesome drinks. and i'm a fan of El Molcajeta Norterilo. mmmmm, lava rock.

Yeah, you know, I'm not a big fan of Maria's. I've never been to Miracle. I guess if you order the right thing it can be good. I got some tacos there last time and they were tiny, dry and unmemorable. Just meat (no beans, rice or even pico de gallo) and a small cup of salsa (eh) on the side.

PS has so many other good cuisine, why not stick to the good mex in your nabe and go to PS for something else?

    And HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! :D/

I haven't been to Maria's in a while, but both of the last two trips to Miracle have be The Suck (mostly due to horrible service).

We went to Miracle (thanks for the feedback! :) ) and had awesome margaritas and darn good food. Nothing fancy and not traditional Mex fare, but the catfish soft tacos were good, albiet a bit short on the catfish...still good with the yucca fries.

Service was great (though we dropped being at the "original Miracle Grill" back in the day the first year they were open for my B-day , may have score points...and dated me ;) ).

Big thumbs up for good drinks, decent food and hard working staff. No complaints!

Service has never been great at Miracle Grill, but they do a very good job southwestern, I've never been dissapointed in a meal. Maria's is very tasty too.

I've been treated so nicely at Miricle, they'll always get my recommendation. Now, having said that, I must admit I've never been to Maria's so maybe I'll check that one out soon! where is it?

the food might be slightly better at Maria's and the drinks a bit cheaper, but the service is so much worse, that I would choose Miracle any day.

If you want no hassle, a fun environment, good drinks and decent food, go to Miracle. If you want good food, but service that will, for the most part range somewhere between not that great to down right rude, go to Maria's.

I was a fan of Maria's, then went back after the expansion and was severely disappointed - pretty much wrote the palce off - yes it was that bad. Went last night simply b/c it was convenient due to the subway and had an AMAZING meal. I will go back, its defenitly worth another look.
