chat boards?

Just got this message from williambird: "Have you ever thought of having a chatroom? It could be good for quick get togethers for whatever reason."

Can anybody recommend chat software that might work well within the DH milieu?

(Now that I have a beard, I will regularly throw around academic-sounding words like "milieu.")

    Do you have a control panel for your domain? There might be a few to choose from in there. I don't have one myself so no specific recommendations to offer.

    No but the control panel has FAQMasterFlex, which I think would be an EXCELLENT name for a rapper. In fact, every time I see the entry, I am compelled to do one of those palm-down turntable scratch pantomimes. Wiki-wiki-wiki!

    My vote is a solid no.

    The boards themselves are quite lively. And while I haven't gotten around to the get togethers at SODA yet, if those events are weekly why bother chatting in cyberspace? The boards never seem to be dead.

    Keep the site as it is and improve what's here. Chatrooms? No way.

    I would vote no unless it's restricted to registered users. Otherwise it will be strictly a troll forum.

    You probably have something in your CPanel. Check Fantastico, there's likely something there. Personally, I think the boards are good enough.
