What a perfect coupling. It makes sense for those times when you really want the 3rd kid but have lost the "fire."

OMG. babeland. in brooklyn. in walking distance from my home? OMG. no more gigantor tragedy when one of my cats thinks chewing through a certain cord is funny. no more stockpiling ...

    wait. I've said too much.

(but seriously, best news evar. I hope they start a charity strip poker game, not that anyone wants to see me nekkid.)

I thought the store on 5th Ave across from the school was Babeland too? No? Whatever that store is, it's no match for the LES one (looking around innocently)

The comments on that story are the best I've read on that board ever!:lol:
"Are all of your sex lives that boring that you need toys? Personally, I'm a meat and potatoes kind of person. "
Now do you skin that potato first or do ya like it au naturale :P

Babeland is great. Some of the best customer service I ever got: "It's water based so it doesn't stick and it's really great for anal."

    This is awesome news!

Their customer service is indeed great, but sometimes a bit freakishly so. I once went to the Lower East Side store to buy something I'd scoped earlier on their website. I walked in, went straight up to the counter, and the woman working there looked at me and said, "Let me guess -- you want a --" I'm leaving out the specifics but she then rattled off the exact item AND COLOR I was about to ask for, and it wasn't like it was one of their most popular/common items.

Me: "Um... yeah, actually, that's exactly what I was about to ask for. How the hell did you do that?!"

One of her coworkers then said, "Oh, she's damn near psychic that way. She's gotten five out of the last nine customers right."

Uh . . . hello? Can you say "match made in heaven" - ie. Babeland and Park Slope?

No longer will I have to hear the plaint "Where can a girl go to get a decent strap-on round here???"

BTW - I walk that block twice a day (see "poo on platform"). Should be fun scoping out which neighbors pop in and outta there. Hee hee!

BBTW - Frankly the Gymboree horrifies me, not the Babeland.

Oh and yes, I DID purchase a rabbit dildo for one of my girlfriends in the Manhattan BABELAND once. . .

Can I tell you that was the stupidest purchase of my entire life? I mean, I'm a great lay, don't get me wrong, but NO MAN can compete with Mr. Robo-dick! WTF?!?!?

Guys - never . . . for the love of Christ . . . buy your GF/Wife one of those things if you ever plan to have sex again. Trust me, your worst nightmare.

such a stupid article in the post.

judging from here and the brownstoner thread, MANY more people are excited about this store than not.

is the post that desperate for material?

do these people who are outraged not see the correlation between sex and babies?

if we have to put up with kids stores taking over every block of retail, why can't there be something for the singles too?

    lame.
