T-mobile vs Verizon

yeah, and when cingular came to NYC they piggy-backed on tmobile's network (and now tmobile is piggy-backing on cingular's network in california and nevada).

my phone doesn't work as well after i got really drunk at my own b-day party & instead of answering the phone, kept throwing it at my best friend everytime it rang (like every 2 minutes) often missing... :roll:

otherwise, t-mobile rules b/c they let you change to a cheaper plan even while you are still under contract.

yeah they are good with that.

well one thing about the sharing of the network thing. my two phones next to each other doesnt have the same amount of bars :P.

I was without a cell phone for about 3 months... It was great.

I had to use a payphone yesterday while away from home for the first time in months. It's just not an issue for me. Between my VoIP line, e-mail, and IM, I'm reachable enough.

Also, I figure I save at least $400/year by not having one.

saving money is always good. too bad i cant marry my dsl and cell phone .

Funny you should mention that. This is the year where Voice over WiFi becomes a reality. Vonage now offers a phone that works over any public WiFi hotspot. You spend your $80 for the phone, and you're done--no extra fees added to your account. Look for major carriers to follow suit, although they will offer phones that switch to their networks as needed for coverage--ergo still costing money.

I meant IM at home, which I use in the office and at home when working. My point is basically that I've got enough tech as it is, and being unreachable at times is a plus, not a minus.

TMob on my cheapie little Samsung, works great everywhere I go in Manhattan and Brooklyn as well as deep in the bowels of my brownstone (haven't tried the basement, so maybe not really the bowels).

Wife's Treo 650 on Cingular works more places outside of the city but doesn't work quite as well around PH, but that's generally considered a limitation of that model phone, not the networks per se.


I'll probably move to Cing and a Treo once I get some more business and travel scared up, but I have no complaints with TMob.

i'm actually absurdly happy with my cingular treo. I've used it exclusively in the nabe since I bought it -- seriously - I haven't left yet, except to go to the vet in p.slope. the shit just works. better than my tmobile phone ever did. and I can txt fast and loose. hot.

nothing works in throughout our apt except t-mobile.. and t-mobile only sometimes works on the couch. cinular ONLY works on the couch, and not anywhere else in the apt.

guess they bought out our couch or something.
