Your Slope Sweeties

Today I saw a guy I've known for ages. He was smiling as he was crossing the street, and it made my day. Still gorgeous after all these years! There are a few Slopers who I notice, some of them make my heart skip a beat, but I don't actually need to actually meet them.
So, how bout it? Is there some special dog walker or girl on a bicycle who makes your day?

not have sex with!@--did i imply that? I mean, there are certain Park Slope personalities that you see around, and they make you smile. You watch them change through the years, and maybe you're happy that they still seem happy. Doesn't everyone have that? I didn't really intend anything weird; it was just a sunny day, and I was thinkin sunny thoughts.

The brunette gal who works at The Chocolate Room. I think of her as "Chocolate Girl." I guess she's married to the owner of the place; maybe she's a co-owner. Such a pleasing demeanor & lovely smile.

Also the woman who runs Java Joe's coffee shop on 8th St. I would buy coffee from her even if it weren't the best in the neighborhood, which it is.

Several bartenders come to mind, too, but they don't necessarily live in the Slope. E.g. the redhead bartender at Stone Park always makes me happy.

Kristen, the red-headed bartender at Park Slope Ale House. That woman is seriously funny. And, is nice to everyone, 2-80.

my best friend has a crush on the owner of Beer Table, but alas he is married.

I'm so bad.... guy from the Y... kinda cute, curly hair, cutoff shirt, seems to be sweet - never seen him punch anyone... glasses sometimes and built real nice. Hmmm - I kinda would like to do him (as opposed to some posters here). I see him all over.

I actually wrote the vaguest post I could thing of and made a CL "L train" missed connections post just to see and I got like 45 replies. It was pretty amazing.

You do realize that the vagueness of your post is the main underlying reason you received so many replies?

What you did is post a fake missed connection. I would venture to say that the majority of your respondents were just as devious. That is to say there we never on the L train and can't specifically recall your vague creation.

If this wasn't electronic messaging I'd call it a tremendous waste of paper. As it is, it's just waste.

No offense, carmen, I like social experiments just as much as the next guy... as far as craigslist goes words like lame, waste of time, fakers, and the delusional come to mind... ah, but who hasn't been guilty of such crimes at one point...

Brian at the Park Slope Pharmacy on 8th Ave. I have been going there for years and he is a prince of a guy. Really cares about his customers and their overall good health.

Agreed, I love Brian. I was so upset when my insurance wouldn't cover non-chain pharmacy dispensations.

Also the trainers at the Y - so friendly - and the folks at Leopoldi's.

I've always wondered about those listings in the back of newspapers in which someone claims to be looking for one specific person in a city of 3 million people and 100 newspapers. Has anyone anywhere ever in human history connected in such a way? What are the chances that some random stranger that you passed on the street once is going to be reading your listing?

I have an old friend that recently found me on MySpace. He told me that throughout the years, he would occasionally put up a missed connections post with the hope that I or someone who knew me would see it.

I was so flattered, cause I wonder sometimes if that cute guy who smiled at me on the train goes home and posts something, and I never remember to check it. I always think that they probably never do. But, you never know- I read them and the way they describe some pretty girl, I always think, "gee, I really hope she sees this and at least feels good that someone noticed her."

I think its a nice thing to have in such an insane city.
