Subject: Its Saturday - whatcha doin'?

I got up and drove to Midtown to return a rental car I had for work. Came home, had some coffee. Got a sandwhich at the bodega on the corner of Bergen/Underhill. Then sat on my fire escape and smoked a cigar. Now, watching football while mindlessly surfing. Oh, and I'm drinking a bourbon.

Yup, I'm bored.

    Gross.
My Saturday was spent getting gifts at Atlantic terminal. (did anyone else get swarmed by suit-clad reps from the church of jesus christ of latter day saints?)
Then I spent another 3 hours on the computer getting more gifts. Then I got drunk.

I hung around my room all day in my sweats in the dark before my HS friend came over. Then we went to a house party with a show and I had champagne and strawberries and rum and saw friends from college I haven't seen in forever. Then I went to Williamsburg to meet up with Alafairnadia and talked about my blog like a dumbass. And then we came back to the neighborhood and had Crown chicken and stayed up too late. Great Saturday night!

    Bacon goes well with anything...

PB goes well with anything (apples, bananas, celery, chocolate... and where was jelly before PB?!)...

Why wouldn't they be good together?! :D

It's from a Reese's peanut butter cups ad from the early 1980s.

Wasn't Elvis known to like a pan-fried sandwich containing bacon, peanut butter and bananas? And they say it was the drugs that killed him... (actually, I think it was ethchlorvynol, also known as Placidyl).

Ohh, I definitely don't remember that one. I think the oldest commercial I can remember is for Life cereal.

I'm not sure if bacon was included in his sandwich, but if so, I've a new-found respect for the man!

Apparently, the Presley family maintains that the original sandwich did not contain bacon.

However, most recipes that I've seen for it do include bacon.
