Held From Press/Public! Truck Bomb in Front of School in CH!

Over the weekend I met an "officer of the law" who informed me of a truck/van that had live explosives inside. It was in front of a Muslim school "somewhere in CH, in the 'industrial' section." This happened recently- he wouldn't tell me when. The school wasn't opened at the time.

He said that it never exploded (obviously) but when I asked him why it never made it to the news, he said that the police (or I guess Homeland Security) decided to keep this event from the public.

Scary, huh? Anyone know where this school is?

He was VERY specific that it was in CH. He was also specific about the Muslim school. So, I don't think this is the same....

The only one I found that seems to fit the description is Ikhwanul Tawheed Academy, 1221 Atlantic Avenue (just west of Nostrand.)

I bet that's it. Wow. Intense.
I've been seeing the "cop parade" again lately. I bet they're stepping up their game. Again. Code what???

Forgive me for bringing it up but... did he want to get in your pants? Guys lie about all kinds of stupid shit; on the Occam's Razor measure, desire to get to those skivvies is slightly more plausible than hush-hush explosives.

Ha! He wouldn't have had to go through all that, he wasn't a bad looking guy! Then again- not really sure....why lie about something like that, though? I mean, usually when I meet cops and I tell them where I live, they CANNOT understand why. Why a nice white girl like me isn't living on LI, surrounded by rugrats, driving my SUV to the nearest mall. I honestly think living in what is percieved by them as shithole is a turn-off for cops.

Regardless....I happened to believe him. I think its fucked up that this is going on right under our noses. I'm not surprised, no, I take that back, I am surprised- its freakin' scary! But I always assume everything's kinda ok, I guess, when its quiet outside. It's naive, I know....

What if there were kids in school that day? What if it did blow up?

This is the first i'm hearing of this incident. Also an incident like this is of public interest and cannot be held from the public. I agree, the Cop was probably just trying to get laid.

If you are talking about the infamous one with the controversy all over the news, it isn't in Crown Heights. If you are talking about something else, then I don't know.

K, but that just seems like a completely bizarre way to get laid.
Is that what cops consider foreplay?

Question, KWAK: but what if its a Homeland Security thing- can't our good 'ole government squash things that are under investigation? I've heard of situations where people have gotten hold of some bad dope, OD'd, and died, and it never makes it to the public (whole groups of people/one batch). I realize its apples and oranges, but the fact that they didn't release it to the public it is what I worry about.
I'm not a conspiracist, btw. Really.

Guys are weird. Guys feel special when the have connections, an "in." How many times have you heard a female start a sentence with "I know a guy..."? Not many, I'd wager. Shit, for a guy, "I know a guy" is a complete is a perfectly acceptable response to a variety of situations! Even better than KNOWING a guy is to BE The Guy.

Certain information is not released due to fear of causing public alarm. For instance, the plot to blow up the subways a few years back. However in this particular situation, I don't see the logic in withholding this info.

Er, aren't we talking about the government here? Where does this "logic" thing come in?

"Certain information is not released due to fear of causing public alarm."

This would be such situation, no?

I would think that they would also not release info regarding current investigations, trying to catch the big fish, etc.

At least I would _hope_ so...

I wouldn't think so, seeing the one in sunset Park (sounds very similar) was all over the papers.

That situation though, they're looking for ONE guy. Who, it seems, had a personal agenda (at least from what I remember...). This situation would be a major public upsetter as it involves a large violent attack against Muslim children. It feels very...."foreign terrorist."

The sunset park guy was a total freak, he had another bomb van and was in jail for exploding it. This second van was part of another plan to either blow up the block his wife lived on or just random terrorism. There was a children's ballet school in front of the place , I think. Forgot, I read it a while back.

Anyways, our resident informant already said it's the first he's heard of.
Who was this cop? Was he in uniform? Why would he tell you about something like this?

I'm not being the devil advocate here. It just sounds weird.

as a slight aside, why do guys say such stupid shit just to get laid? I mean "muslim school was gonna get bombed and you didn't know about it" is NOT sexy.

as a further slight aside, scottish rugby players. just sayin'.

Wow, your telling me something no one else knows sorta stuff.

I have to agree with the boys on this one.

dude. it's so not exciting. if some average guy is telling me "zomg, best stock EVAR to buy is blah - insider knowledge!" I'm not thinking "can't waits to open my legs!". I'm definitely thinking "does this guy really want to be martha stewart? wtf?" and then? I'm checking out the hottie with the nice thighs and pretty eyes down the bar.

men are clearly dumb - enough of them have admitted it in this thread alone - but still. are they really THAT dumb?

(further aside: why am I so fervently defending the intelligence of men in this thread???????)

EDITED TO ADD: to clarify the above, the intelligence of men when they are working on getting laid. obviously I think there are a lot of smart dudes walking around, that's why I'm so clearly distressed about their absurd notions of what might get them some ass. and why they all admit to it.

This cop is a childhood friend of my cousin, so he's not random by any means. Why would he tell me? Because we were introduced and we got to talking (where he was based in the city, where I lived, blah, blah), he just mentioned it as "oh, you live in CH, yea, didn't hear it from me, but 'you guys' had a bomb...."

Sorry for screaming but WHY WOULD A COP COMPLETELY LIE ABOUT SOMETHING SO CRAZY?!!?!?!

It makes NO sense sorry. Just because ONE COP on the board has said he knows nothing about it and ONE poster mentioned it MAY have to do with sex, does not mean this didn't happen!!! Kthanks.

(deep breath)- sorry for rant. I stand by it though.
