I wonder what part of eternal sunshine was filmed here. I have most of that movie memorized after watching it about 150 times and I don't recognize anything in it...

I saw an interesting film on Sundance Channel called "The Landlord" starring Beau Bridges. He plays a rich kid who buys an apartment in Park Slope in 1970 on 6th Ave at Prospect Place. Its amazing to see how the nabe looked back then.

Basically the story is he is the lone white face in the building and he grows from the experience.

Very dated but if you ever have the chance to check it out, do so. Hal Ashby directed.

    Cool, I'll look for that.

Some of those in the list -- Smoke, As Good as It Gets -- were shot in Windsor Terrace. Maybe scenes in PS as well?

But as far as WT goes, you can't forget Dog Day Afternoon...

"Dog Day Afternoon" was filmed on 9th (PPW) betw 17th & 18th.

"Meet Joe Black" did a lot of filming in the Armory.

"The Age of Innocence" filmed scenes in a brownstone in the Center Slope.

It also gets facts wrong. It confuses Windsor Terrace and other near by neighborhoods with Park Slope.

Smoke featured the corner of 7th ave and 3rd street and also showed the corner of my building on 8th and Union

Wrong. They filmed that on 9th ave by the corner of 16th st... In the movie it took place at 7th ave by the corner of 3rd st, but that’s not where it was filmed.

Technically, Dog Day and Smoke were filmed in Windsor Terrace. I believe parts of The Lords of Flatbush were filmed in Park Slope.

Yeah, that scene when William Hurt was nearly hit by a car was one of the few scenes that was really filmed in Park Slope….. The Cigar store was filmed at 9th ave by the corner of 16th st in Windsor Terrace (the space that’s now split into 2 stores: an Australian pie store, and a sewing place)……. I also remember the ending scene when Harvey Keitel chased the kid down the street. It was suppose to be 7th ave, but it was really filmed at Court st in Cobble Hill.

I thought if the Pavilion movie theater had opened a few earlier, it would have been cool to see Smoke there. But too bad the Pavilion was just an abandoned building when Smoke was released.

There was a pretty bad movie in 1973 called Shamus starring Burt Reynolds that was at least partially filmed in Park Slope. Timboos is in the background of a couple shots...

    Subject: Movies

MILK MONEY, a film that can be seen on cable frequently, (and a Sleepless in Seattle wannabe) had a scene shot on Garfield Place. The scene, lasting a few seconds, shows Melanie Griffith going up the stoop at her therapist's. Tied up the block for a week.

FOR PETE'S SAKE, shot all over Brooklyn in the mid-70s. Streisand and husband "live" on PPW at around 7th St. There's a car chase scene where you see the building exterior and the park.

"Shamus" was pure vintage-location-shot gold! There were some long scenes shot right on the Gowanus -- at the 3rd St bridge, I think. He's clambering over all the roofs of the warehouses, and I tell you, it looks pretty much as it does today. Probably the only part of Bklyn that does!

Heaven Help Us had a great scene filmed at the Carroll Street bridge over the Gowanus, in which a Cadillac got very, very wet.

Thank to you guys I just added Shamus to my Netfilx cue. It better be cheesy fun!

Loved "Heaven Help Us!" Kevin Dillon at his best.

Sent them a note to add "The Landlord" if it ever comes out on DVD.
