Hi Suzie: First I lived at 301 23rd Street bet. 6 & 7th right across from the cemetary. Then I moved to 698 6th Ave. bet. 21st and 22nd st. Across the street from Joe's Candy Store. I guess that was why I was always a little chunky(lol) I remember my Mom used to run across the street in the evening when we were watching t.v. and bring back a bag of penny candy. She loved the green leaves and royal jellies! What joy! Those were the days when a little bag of penny candy meant so much.

Thanks Terry. I've just been having a lot of family problems recently with my daughter. It's been very hard for me and my husband and I'm trying to stay optimistic that she will eventually see the light for the sake of herself, her son and of course the rest of the family.

Thanks Suzie. I certainly know about shedding tears but I don't know if it makes it better or worse. My problem is trying to hold them back like when I'm at work or in public. Just thinking about the situation makes my eyes well-up .....even now. Thank God for my son. He keeps me going.

Warren, thanks for the Dodger story, I was only six when they moved to LA and never got the chance to see them at Ebetts Field.
You're walk through Prospect Park, now thats another story. We took that hike quite often, up 9th street or 15th, through the park so many different ways and out the other side to the zoo or across to the gardens. Danny, Kenny McFee, myself and whoever else was around would spend morning till night there. (come to think of it, we never thought about eating, I wish that were the case now).

    barbara,
i can relate. kids never listen no matter how old they are. i just got an email from one of my friends. She informed me that this girl i just became friends with through my pampered chef party just lost her son. Makes u put things into perspective. I remember her calling me to tell me she was away for the weekend taking her sonback to charleston to college. He was 20 yrs old. he was out with his friends like my son does and they were drinking and he choked on his own vomit. His roommate did not know anything until the next morning when he did not wake up. As I am writing this I am feeling so sick. I did not know her very well but she wanted me to work for her so we were on the phone all the time. She was the funniest person i ever met, vibrant and she was so good she sold 1,800 dollars of pampered chef at my house a few months ago. the email i got i sent to my son in college who i know does the same as her son did. They are the same age. I told him u think things are never going to happen to u. So sit down and relax no matter what.... it is in God's hands and we only can do the best we can and the rest is up to our kids. love terry

Hey Paul, Were any of those McFees related to Jerry McFee? He went to our Church on 12th Street. Too bad you never got to Ebbets Field. It was in a class all its own. We used to sneak down to the box seats behind first base late in a blow out game. You could talk to the first base coach without raising your voice!! Old Goat

I would like to make my feelings for Walter O'Malley (He is the creep that moved the Dodgers) quite clear. If I were to find his grave in California, I would share a six pack of Budweiser with him. Only I would drink it first and then share it with him!!!!

Thanks Paul for the "chin up." I am trying not to think about my daugther as I know she is not thinking about me or the rest of her family. I don't want to get sick as I have to stay strong for my son and grandson.

On a lighter note, yes, all these legal papers get on my nerves. When I used to work in the trusts and estates dept. seeing the wills of the rich and famous made me sick. So much money and so little time (lol.)

O.K. let's have a big collective board hug. I think we all could use one now. (lol)

Wow Terry, that is such a sad story. I've always said "youth is wasted on the young." When you're young you think you're invincible. We thought that way too way back when. But I do think it is so much more dangerous these days. Our society has changed so much since in the past 50 or so years. It seems no one takes responsibility anymore for their actions. It's an anything goes society. The kids today fear no one. I know we always feared what our parents would do to us if we did something wrong. I guess we can only do our best and pray!
