Yes, I will be going to India but now the date is not until the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Tentatively, I will be spending some time in Bangalore. This is the "silicon valley" of India and it is where all the guys live who answer the help line when you are having a problem with your Dell computer or are placing an order with Amazon.....not to mention a whole lot of other services that American workers used to be responsible for in the past.

I agree. So, tonight I put up the first Christmas ornament. A wreath with two snowpersons (male & female) kissing and it says "There's SNOW place like home". I will make sure the tree is up and we have decorated before I leave.

MY AUNT BOUGHT ME A MARILYN MONROE ORNMAENT FOR MY TREE ABOUT 2 WEEKS AGO, AND I FIGURED I WAS NOT GOING TO PACK IT AWAY WHEN MY XMAS STUFF WILL BE COMING OUT OF THE BINS SOON, SO I PLACED IT ON MY WINDOW SEAT TIL XMAS. I START EARLY. I DON'T LIKE LONG LINES AND CROWDS AT THE LAST MINUTE. I BUY 2-3 GIFTS EVERY PAYDAY, AND BEFORE I KNOW IT, I'M DONE. WILL JUST HAVE A FEW LAST MINUTE GIFTS THE WEEK BEFORE, BUT THAT'S ALL EASY STUFF

Good for you. I have improved in the past 3 years.

Carol: No, Arlene doesn't go.....for several reasons. For one thing, she works full-time and I am away for three weeks. On most days, I am working long hours and she would have to be out on her own. Then there is the cost of flights.....and I am not in the same city for the whole trip (so additional flights). The only good thing (financially) would be that there would be no additional hotel cost. In the past, they allowed us to take some vacation time at the end of a trip but that has been largely curtailed.
