K.... so now you know what it is ....you have to take it from there .....

My best friend had a aneurism in her head....and they sawed open her skull to remove it and she is fine ....for years now .....you have to take care of it and get alot of info first before they start working on you ....

I know, it's just waiting for all these drs. appts is frustrating!!! I haven't told my kids anything, I don't want to worry yet. I'll tell them when I have to.

Her Neurolgist was Dr Jutkowitz ....here in Staten Island ...he referred her to a Surgeon .....My Mom had a stroke and now has Dementia ...and I brought her to him also ....he is really sweet .....look up Doctors ....ask people ....get your info 1st

Your brave .....if I have bad news ...about me....I come right out and tell them....they can feel when soemthing is wrong....so I give you credit ...I wish I could hide my feelings that good!!!

Hi Debbie & Suzie. I just read about schwannoma, and you have over a 99% chance that it is just benign. So, again, we will pray for you. Hang in there and the most important thing is to think positive.

Thank's Janet, I read up on that too. That's why I haven't freaked out totally!!! LOL They say they are slow growing so who knows how long it has been there.

Suzie, I'm thinking that also. I had hearing loss for a long time but it has gotten worse recently. I'm wondering if this is why. Maybe taking it out would restore even a little of my hearing, i'd be thrilled!!!

Deb ...I just read up on it ....and your lucky you caught it early ....read this .. it says you dont want it to get bigger.....so you have a few choices.....and that could possibly be the reason for hear loss and dizziness and tinnitus

A schwannoma is a kind of tumor originating from the Schwann cells. The insulating myelin sheath which covers peripheral nerves is produced by the Schwann cells. Hence, one kind of tumor originating from the Schwann cells is called a schwannoma. The tumor cells always stay on the outside of the nerve.
Notice ALWAYS STAYS ON THE OUTSIDE OF THE NERVE>

Suzie, my kids are young yet, I don't want to have them worry about me. If I am having surgery, then I'll ease my way around it to not make it so major for them.

I want to share a quick story .....my Daughter Janell was about to give birth to my Grandson 4yrs ago....and 1 week before her c-section ....I started to hemmorhage ...I went to the emergency room ....and they said ...well since you work for 911 you can handle what Im about to say ....I believe you have cancer!!!!

I was a mess....I couldnt stop crying....and yes i talked to my kids....who helped me more than you know....I became the baby ......low and behold I went in for a D&C ....and on the day James was born .....the Doctor came in and said it was benign.....so dont stress it .....try to stop it or contain it...so it doesnt get bigger......and sometimes you'll feel better if its out in the open ......my kids are 30 , 25 , 13

I am snowed in and have to try to get out later to pick up the 5 kids doe the weekend. Ohhhhhhhhhh maybe if I get out, I will go buy snow sleds.

Im not sure if you know Ida who worked with me in the bank on 9st....this woman has been through so much ....her head sawed open, heart surgery , breast cancer, diabetes, she just had her carpa tunnel done and her eyes ......and she is my inspiration .....she isnt letting anything stop her....like bringing a car in to be fixed ......
