her first name was estelle they had a daughter judy

Helen, I lived just below 6th Ave on the even side. There was a family in one of the apartment houses named Mulverhill (spelling?) I am sorry but the names you mentioned, (Estelle, Judy) do not ring a bell in my empty head.

Warren: Speaking of old black stoves. I can top that. When I lived at 301 23rd Street we had a shower in the kitchen! We could wash our dishes and take a shower at the same time. (lol)

Just one more thing. I never got in on the ground floor re the Michael/Michelle saga. I must have missed it early on. Can anyone fill me in? Is it that they are meeting for the first time after many years? That's the feeling I get from the blogs.

Thanks for the fill in. That is a really nice "love story." I thought it was something like that. My best wishes to them both.

As a little girl that shower in the kitchen was really an embarrassment to me. I will never forget it. But that was the best we could do back then. Don't know how my mom did it. Three kids and a single mother. I guess we all struggled back then.

I remember Mrs. Zucas (the landlady) coming every month for the rent. I think she and her husband owned a lot of the buildings in the neighborhood. She would bring a lamb's brains sandwich with her to eat while she waited for my mother to gather the rent. I wanted to throw up! (lol) funny the thigns we remember.

For all those who will not be on the blog until after Christmas,, Jeanette, Barbara, Maryann, etc...I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and a very Happy, Healthy, Prosperous New Year!!!!!!

YES, STRUGGLE.. BUT SOMEHOW MOST OF US MANAGED...

WE WERE 5 IN THE APARTMENT WITH THE SHOWER IN THE SINK...WE HAD A CURTAIN AROUND IT FOR PRIVACY??? LOL BUT, THAT WAS THE NORM FOR SOME OF US BACK THEN... WE LIVED NEXT DOOR TO LONGO'S POOL HALL ON 21 BTE 4&5TH AT THAT TIME..
