debbie bonavita mccarthyThanks for the B'day wishes for Nick. We're so glad he's here celebrating and not in Iraq!!!!!!!!!
Suzie......I'm with you.......They told my dad to quit and he didn't.....he had heart disease and he's smoked pretty much until the end. But it scared the shit out of my brother-in-law and he stopped cold turkey and hasn't gone back since. I wish all of you guys would at least cut back to start. -
maryannlGOOD MORNING EVERYONE!!!!!!! JUST WANTED TO LET YOU ALL KNOW THAT I'VE NEVER SMOKED SO THE ONLY THING I CAN GO BY IS WHEN THE DOCTOR TOLD MY DAD TO QUIT BECAUSE HE WAS DIAGNOSED WITH HEART DISEASE AND DIABETIES, I WAS A TEENAGER THEN AND SEEING HIM STRUGGLE TO DIET AND GIVE UP SMOKING TAUGHT ME MANY THINGS IN LIFE TO WATCH MY DIET AND NOT SMOKE, OUR WHOLE FAMILY HAD TO EDUCATE OURSELVES IN SO MANY AREAS, IT WAS A MAJOR TRANSITION.
JEANETTE, SO YOU ARE TAKING THE FIRST STEP THIS WEEK, THAT'S TERRIFIC. MY SISTER QUIT ABOUT 3 MONTHS AGO AND ONE OF THE THINGS SHE WAS AFRAID OF IS WEIGHT GAIN BUT SHE HAS LOST 8 LBS WHICH SHE'S VERY PROUD OF.
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT WEEKEND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -
debbie bonavita mccarthyJoe......I'm glad you stopped.
I'm not a smoker so I can't preach. I'm sure it is hard to stop....but like Suzie said....be strong!!!! -

HI DEBBIE, YOUR'S IS SIMILAR TO MY DAD'S STORY, SEE MY MESSAGE BELOW. I DO WORRY BECAUSE I'VE BEEN INHALING CIGARETTE SMOKE FOR HALF OF MY LIFE, THIS WAS WHEN PEOPLE SMOKED INDOORS INSTEAD OF GOING OUTDOORS, I USED TO GET BRONCHITIS AT LEAST TWICE A YEAR, IT WAS AWFUL, I'M HIGHLY ALLERGIC TO IT. OUR RESTAURANTS JUST WENT SMOKE FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! -

SO, I HAD MY CHECK-UP.....EVERYTHING WAS LOOKED AT..TOP TO BOTTOM, INSIDE AND OUT.....AFTER EVERYTHING WAS DONE, I WENT BACK A FEW DAYS LATER TO DISCUSS THE RESULTS.....
WELL, THAT MOMENT HAD ARRIVED FOR ME, THE ONE MY DAD HAD TOLD ME ABOUT.....THE DOCTOR SAID.."I HAD THE BEGINNING SIGNS OF EMPHYSEMA"......YEP, THAT SCARED THE CRAP OUT OF ME. HE PUT ME ON MEDICINE AND TOLD ME TO STOP SMOKING NOW....BEFORE IT WAS TOO LATE....
I SET A DATE( 4 DAYS AWAY), AND DECIDED I WOULD STOP ON MAR. 3RD,2003--3/03/03......IT WAS ALSO ASH WEDNESDAY, I SAID A PRAY, ASKED GOD FOR HELP, AND NEVER HAD ANOTHER CIGARETTE EVER AGAIN.....
.....YOU ALL CAN QUIT IF YOU WANT TO....NO, ITS NOT EASY, BUT IT CAN BE DONE
JOE, VERY TOUCHING STORY, BOTH PART 1 & 2 GAVE ME GOOSEBUMPS, THANKS FOR SHARING. -

I quit 3 years ago. I still get the urge but will never pick a cigarette up.
It is hard but YOU ALL can do it.
I used to eat dinner get up pick up the phone call my friends and smoke away on my back porch.
Freezing cold weather out on the porch freezing but smoking.
I remember many times being in bed and the phone would ring and I would go with my PJ'S out ion the porch in the freezing cold talking on the phone and smoking and then go to bed with cigarette breathe. LOL
It is hard but you all can do it but WHEN U R READY AND ON YUR TERMS.. Love tbone -

anna famosohi everyone-just a quick note-glad to see all the enthusiasm and encouragement everyone is getting about quiting smoking...this is the best thing you can do for yourself...you save money, your clothes smell better, and you live longer to see your family! Can't beat these perks...it's a win-win situation-just think-take that money for those expensive cigarettes and put it away for A.C. or a treat for your kids or grandkids! That's the best incentive you can have............and you won't believe how much energy you'll have and how much better you're going to feel once you quit!!!!!!!!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!!! -
pintoI SAY......ALL OF US FORMER SMOKERS WILL HELP ALL OF THE SOON TO BE FORMER SMOKERS.......... to QUIT -

Suzie, I guess they did not make a bird big enough for me to fit. If you get around to fish you could make me a WHALE. I know, I know a whale is not a fish!!!

Hey Warren ...this is more like you! You just wont stay still... lol.

I just found it again looking through my photobucket
