I just edited my account with Nicole's and my grandson's
new school address
and just my Parent's address (no name)

Im not sure if people from an area other than the 5 Boros
can apply ....but give it a try!

I get notified at my house phone, cell phone and email
of an Emergency

Hey Joe, The pictures of the 5th ave Trolley really brought back memories. When I rode it the fare was a nickle. Could ride ir from our corner (12th St) all the way to practically Shore Road. It had a place for the motorman front & back. He just took the handle out and walked to the other end of the car. No need to turn it around like many other trolleys. We had several relatives in Bay Ridge and they used to use it to visit us and visa-versa. Sometimes my Mother would give us two nickles to visit my Aunt Anna on 90th St. We would take the 5th Ave trolley out and sometimes walk back home and saved the nickle for goodies. Actually one of our friends father was a motorman and if we were lucky enough to catch his run we got on gratis. I am not sure if the "EL" pictured is on 5th Avenue. I remember that as a kid. We used to climb up the pillars that held it up. Only part ways though. Last time I was in the Lowes Alpine was many years ago when I went with my Mother to see "The Pirate" with Gene Kelly. Since my Mother died in 1954 it had to be in the late 40's or early 50's. There are many pictures on Brooklyn Web Sites and most of the collections include 5th Ave. 8)

Warren those pics are amazing that Joe posted ....I cant believe the one
where they were starting to build the Verrazano. 2nd ave in the 40's
is where I learned how to drive a car.....never thought of getting pulled
over by the Cops back then! I love OLPH's Church ...simply beautiful!
