Brooklyn Back When - Open Thread

Good morning everyone.
im sitting in my new apt,at my kitchen table,having that second cup of coffee. To my surprise i hear boom boom ,im thinking thunder......no it was the town marching band.....lol......I think there marching for flag day....Nice to hear on my first sunday.....and church bells....on the corner......it remind me of st, johns
and the band remind of the band of st .anna.....That took me down memory lane, very nice feeling....The weather is cloudy and very muggy....yuk not a good hair day.....Have a good sunday all ,....peek in later.

this is a note for anna famosa i was in the air force with a larry bluhm and he was from aurora and his wife irene was his childhood sweetheart we have kept in touch over 60yrs. they are wondeful people they still live in aurora on watson st. any chance u know them hope you are well and happy in aurora by the way i lived on 21st bet 4th and 5th did u know any of my family

Hi Jerry-don't know Larry or Irene Bluhm but Aurora is a big town (of course, not as big as Brooklyn)-it now has 170,000 people. I came to Illinois in 1986-lived in the next town (Naperville) then Lisle, now Aurora...don't get back to Brooklyn too often but the suburbs (I'm about 35 miles west of Chicago) remind me of Long Island...my 3 kids were brought up here and except for the winters, it's nice here....unfortunately, I don't know your family..I lived on 8th Ave.between 19th & 20th St..(but I've been on this blog since January and now feel I know all these people and although I'm "away from home", to me, these people are "my family"...hi to everyone else-yes, being a grandparent (especially for the 1st time)is one of the best experiences you can ever have (you grandmas out there know what I mean)...you might get exhausted but the fun part is they get to go home (and you get to sleep all night)...LOL...well,good night...talk to u tomorrow.

I agree but do not let her get to u and really just keep your hands to yourself. She might be jealous u have so many friends who love u and things to do. just pretend u do not hear her big mouth....love ya Big Momma
