Took a look inside this weekend.

This place ain't nowhere close to finished.

So what are we looking at, ballpark? September.

Seriously. I'm not trying to be snarky. September? October?

I'm having my birthday party there Novemer 14th, finished or not.

Will they have cake?

it looks worse than it really is... with all the scrap wood hanging around and tools scattered about. there's just a lot of small cosmetic stuff left to do, installing kitchen eqmt, light fixtures, etc.. and once the flooring people install that floor it'll look much closer to finished.

the thing that could keep us waiting is going to be final inspection and licensing. that stuff is out of our control.

Not to harp, or bug, or otherwise alarm anyone, but I was discussing the opening of Double Windsor with a business owner on PPW.

They heard that the paperwork for DW isn't in yet, and that it'll be at least until this December for the DW to realistically open.

They also mentioned that the kitchen wasn't even in yet, and that takes a long time (labor, paperwork, etc.).

it ain't so buddy. rumors like this are hilarious though.

when we had just got the cake shop open, i overheard a customer tell her friend (while i served them coffee) that "a couple guys from the band Interpol owned this place."

but i think i mentioned this before: just forget all about us until you see we're open. it takes time and it's unpredictable sometimes... but at this point, we're just waiting on one or two things and are looking to be open this season.

i popped my head in there today talking to greg and jeff (i think. i'm really, really bad with names) and they said within a month.

from what i saw, it's looking great. gorgeous antique lanterns hanging around the bar, reclaimed wood tables and flooring.

i'm jazzed. i'm ready for drinks.

it's looking good in there....floor is down, and they were painting the main room today. I went by around noon and started saying "open the damn bar already", to which Eric invited me in to hang out and said he'd get me a beer right now if I wanted one (I like these guys already!)....a very tempting offer, but was on my way to PT....
