Sorry I missed the thread. I was in a hotel in NJ (kill me now). I had access to the club level (read: the parallel universe you get to visit at hotels if you've stayed there too many times - they have an HONOR bar....fools!) and caught the last hour with a bunch of people.

Since McCain's face is all fucked up, one lady kept screaming WALNUTS! at the tv every few seconds since she thinks he has squirrel face.

I swear that the waiter on the floor was trying to get rid of extra plates and things we could throw.

Wow, he's not a licensed plumber and Joe is his middle name. The horror. Why don't we call him undocumented then all the liberals will be happy.

he also owes a bunch of back taxes and is nowhere near buying the plumbing business as claimed.

I don't really care who he is because he's irrelevant to the campaign. McCain is desperate and made way too many references to him in the attempt to appeal to "every man". He's the Palin version of "Joe Six Pack", but with a face to him. Neither one of those messages/attempts "speaks" to me

And does a small plumbing business really net the owner $250,000 p.a. adjusted gross income after expenses? Turnover perhaps. More like 'Joe' was thinking if he saved up $250,000 he might have enough to buy it one day, and got confused. What a crock.
McCain's campaign responded that Biden can't bully the plumber.

"It is astounding that Joe Biden, the self-adulated everyman, can't believe that an American making less than $250,000 a year might still be opposed to socialism," said McCain spokesman Ben Porritt. "Barack Obama wants to raise taxes and redistribute the wealth in this country because he believes government can spend your money better than you can -- it's not just naive, it's poor judgment,"
3% extra on the marginal rate for people earning a quarter of a million a year == state ownership of the means of production? Unbelievable. Of course, I do agree this government should not be allowed to spend my money, and the only morally correct amount of federal tax to pay is $0 for the time being. That's because the majority of the budget is spent on soldiers and weapons and wounding and killing people. But as long as we're being coerced to mostly fund evil (as well as the occasional good thing) I think that making the brackets a teensy bit more progressive, more in line with other wealthy democracies, would be a good start.

homeowner - that is scary! I did a lot of traveling last year and was in airports where I would overhear people in bars and waiting rooms (mostly watching Fox News). The comments were sadly similar
