As they mentioned when making the show "Life on Mars," they had to RECREATE the dog shit and piss and trash and newspapers that used to make nyc so charming. Get over it. Park Slope is as clean as it gets. (Except for my street. And yours. And of course, yours)

I know there is a type of tree that when its leaves or fruits fall it smells disgusting. Maybe that is what you are smelling?

like snow, rain will eventually wash the smell of dog pee away.

I think you might be refering to the female Ginkgo Tree. It is a great urban tree, but its fruit smells like puke.

Ahhh thanks I couldn't remember what type of tree.

Those trees drop the fruity things that smell like a cross between rancid butter and vomit, not dog pee.

    FWIW.

Ugh, and imagine the smell when you make tea out of those gingko balls that fall from the tree. My old neighbor used to pick up all those balls from the street and bring them and make tea out of them, the smell :pukel:

Ginkgo biloba is big business. People pay the bucks to take that stuff. Probably in Park Slope, for that matter.

Daver it's a mazing how you manage to hijack every thread
The ginko odor is more vomity, the scent I smell is dog or cat pee and it's nasty. I'll get over it...I'm just sayin... :pukel:

Dude, I didn't hijack shit. That vomit stuff was all over stacey.

And I stand by my original theory.

Yeah certain blocks get more dog traffic and yeah they'll smell. Especially if we only get a small warn rainshower. That only revives the sent, but doesn't wash it away. Very gross.

So, are you Febrezing the shit out of everything you see, or spraying it up your nose to kill the stench?

That reminds me of the old joke where the lady in the elevator passes a cloud of gas, and tries to cover it up with a big spray of pine scented air freshener. A drunk gets on the car, sniffs, and says, "Damn! It smells like somebody took a shit on a Christmas tree in here!"

I rather enjoy the scents of the neighborhood...

You all should try spending 40 plus hours locked up in a cell with 60 other dudes.. then you might find out what the smell of piss is all about.

Oh, also, off topic I know, but, I just ran some stats on Daver:

Total posts with cat pics: 1469
percentage of Daver's post with cat pics: 43.9%

I do love the smell of FREEDOM... Specifically, it's the smell you encounter with a coffee in one hand and a slice in the other... a smell you can really only get WITHOUT wearing handcuffs..

Nope. And the only piss I smell on the street is human piss. Too bad we can't ban assholes from NYC who piss wherever the hell they please.
